Bear Pierre and the Brutal Organ Transplant

One night in 2002, we started playing around with stop motion. Three years later, we came together again and finished this little short film on a joyful, fun day.

The lighting is horrible, set design is nearly absent, stop-motion is less than adequate, the story is all improvised on the spot, and the whole thing is wonderful.

I want to send a very special thanks to our star actor, Bear Juanito, for agreeing to work with us on a basically no-budget film. His interpretation of the character Bear Pierre is incendiary. I must also mention another special person dear to our hearts, Rat Jackson, the stuntman for Bear Juanito in the accident scene. The film is dedicated to his memory.

Title Card Translations

One day, as Bear Pierre was walking…

Oh no! Pierre is injured.

The doctors immediately start examining him.

It looks hopeless, but then…

A friend volunteers for the organ transplantation.

The bears are ready, but what about the surgeon?

And now it’s time for the operation.

The doctors have trouble finding the right organ.

But what’s that right there?

Pierre is almost better than before the accident.

Almost.
